On her father's side of the family, he is rivals with another Greek family, a pureblood family, the Starvos family like to constantly target Selene as she is considered a 'mistake' as she is not a pureblood. While personally her father doesn't care as he sees Selene as his pride and joy regardless (He doesn't see himself as a breeding dog) Selene does care slightly, and wants to show that even as a half-blood she's as good as any pureblood. Selene follows the moon cycles religiously, following her namesake, on the crescent, she dresses in a plain white dress, her hair up in an elaborate hairstyle with a crescent upon her brow, if she can she will go outside and dance barefooted while playing a song on her ocarina. She has different songs for different moon phases, mostly its for good luck, happiness, etc. But most of the time she does it for fun, this is one of her more kept secrets to herself. The white dress symbolizes her status as 'Maiden' as well as 'Moon', that in itself saying she is a 'Maiden of the Moon' it also symbolizes her purity. She knows apparition as she is a seventh year and rather likes dancing even though she gets crazily embarrassed when someone seems her doing that. As a child she was treated horribly, basically bullied for her half-blood status, it was a horrible experience and as a result she had developed more of a schizo persona, its usually takes form in reflective surfaces, she's usually more cocky, more aggressive and more terrifying, as a result Selene usually punches the mirror to break it.
