His father, Aramis Rousseau, is a rich socialite with strong inner connections within the Ministry of Magic and other powerful people whilst Asher’s mother, Maria Rousseau and third cousin of Aramis, is a passionate globetrotter and magizoologist, working more for pleasure than for wealth. Despite their marriage being an arranged one, as is often the case among high-class purebloods, both Aramis and Maria deeply love each other and, along with Asher, they have two daughters. As a child, Asher was raised to view muggles, muggleborns, halfbloods and halfbreeds as lesser beings, practically beasts, encouraged by his father and other Rousseaus. However, Asher’s mother, wanting her son to grow up more open-mindedly, decided to bring him along with her as she studied beasts around the world. At first, Asher complained but over time Maria’s efforts worked and Asher became less inclined to believe in the purism of his family. He also learned new languages and customs, and can currently speak English, French, German and Gobbledegook fluently. He can also speak some Spanish, Mermish and Trollspeak, but the little that he knows is mostly insults and profanity. Asher is poor student and malicious troublemaker; he delights in causing hell for his professors and fellow students and makes no effort to put much effort into his education. He does dreadfully at potions and only just manages to pass by in his other subjects, with the exception of charms, DADA and COMC, which he actually shows natural talents for. Asher seems to have inherited his mother’s love for magical creatures and delights at the sight of any beast, no matter how timid or how ferocious. Asher particularly loves dragons and intends to become a dragonologist once his schooling is finished. There are some who believe that Asher could become a healer if he desired to do so, despite his poor potions ability, as he shows a strong talent in healing charms. He is also a skilled duellist, having had received early tutelage from his father and uncles as a boy, all of whom have always encouraged Asher to be quick with his wand and overlook his tendency to fight dirty. Due to an obsession with the old ways and a lingering sense of loyalty toward the scattered death eaters, Asher’s father is secretly teaching his son the ways of the Unforgiveable Curses, so that Asher may possess the means to protect himself and the purity of his blood, or so is Aramis’ justification. Two summers ago Asher’s patronus had always taken the form of a small Peruvian Vipertooth.
