He was conceived out of wedlock from a tryst between the two, who later married after he was born. The incident led to the end of her political career, but the two have been happily married ever since. They have also had a second child, Bastion’s little sister Bridget. Bastion is a fan of Arthurian legend, and has spent a considerable amount of time dedicating himself to the pursuit of a more knightly ideal, despite the modern world’s lack of need for people of such inclination. He plans on using his honor and dedication, as well as his lineage, to become an Auror like his father, as it seems the closest modern-day equivalent. His mother worries about it though, as his father has had enough brushes with death for the both of them. As a result of his extracurricular activities, he’s skilled in swordplay, fencing, horsemanship, survival techniques, magi/zoology, and herbology. His father is more encouraging than his mother, and has helped him attain a modest collection of armor, weapons, and other knightly paraphernalia. As a student, he’s not particularly gifted when it comes to learning quickly. He makes up for it through determination and stubbornness. Generally he knows more than he is capable of utilizing. His wand has been described as “proud, stubborn to a fault, and unwaveringly loyal.” What he achieves with such a wand is earned only through dedicated work, but such diligence and perseverance gives him unrelenting strength that magic all the stronger. He seems to have an affinity for casting Charms and making Potions. His charms in particular are strong, while his knowledge of Herbology gives him an advantage with potions.
