To Benjamin, music put him at ease after a long drooling day of classes and studying. Though he may be fast at getting his homework done, or studying as he wasn’t one to waste time, he still got quite stressed about it. He would actually go back later to look it over again just in case there was a mistake, but that wasn’t what he was doing at that precise moment. After leaving the Library the young Ravenclaw prefect headed on up to the sixth floor to where he knew he could usually find an empty classroom. And with there not being many classes taught up on the sixth floor, he knew it wouldn’t be that great of a chance that he would be bothered.
Once he had gotten to the classroom, the young blond placed his violin case on one of the desks and opened it up, taking out the violin that his parents had given him when he was nine. It was still in pretty good condition as Ben was one to take care of his possessions and never loaned any of them out. He was too selfish to do that; perhaps that was because he was an only child and never had to share anything with a sibling. But he felt that it was good for him as unlike some people he knew, his possessions stayed in quite good condition.
Taking the violin out, he ran a finger along the strings for a moment before plucking one lightly, listening to the sound before tuning it to where it was supposed to be. He repeated this process with the rest of the violin’s strings before taking out his bow and placing the violin under his chin. Closing his eyes, Benjamin begun to run the bow along the strings of the violin making a light tune that he had memorized, one his mother had taught him when he was young and would play on the piano for him to lull him to sleep. It had always been his favorite after all.
