Both her parents are from two pureblood families of different decent but ones that were able to breed without being cousins. This in mind her family is not crazy and probably won’t be for at least a decade or two. Her mother is a Danish Pureblood who was forced into arranged marriage with Ellie’s father a British Pureblood and let’s just say they weren’t very fond of each other. They grew too like each other as Ellie and her younger brother and sister wouldn’t be in existence otherwise or at least there wouldn’t be three of them. Her little brother is 2 years younger than her and her younger sister is 4 years younger than her. That makes her brother a 5th year and her sister is a 3rd year at Hogwarts. [/style]But yes, the Vann family takes much pride in being a Pureblood family and as stated one of the more well-known ones. They are strict on blood and are purists until the very end but that’s the funny thing about Ellie. She would actually be considered a blood traitor as she doesn’t like the opinions that her family has but she keeps it to herself like a proper well groomed girl. She is confident in her beliefs so not one person would be likely of changed her mind no matter what. At a young age, or rather the youngest that a child may be to start learning, she was placed into the care of a black belt to teach her the ways of karate. This isn’t usually heard of within a family since a lady should remain proper and allow her wand to protect her as well as a man. Her father wanted something better for his daughter to protect herself even if it was muggle way of doing things but he didn’t care. She doesn’t enjoy fighting, however, so she doesn’t use this method quite often and most people completely forget about her knowing karate. Despite this she still has that hard-working personality she still gave it her all and did her best to make her father proud of her. She is currently a purple from years of studying and practicing. Her mother made up for the karate lessons with forcing her to become fluent in Danish as well as Italian, and French. She was also forced into learning several different types of teas and can now identify at least 25 different types of tea just by taste from this forced training but she loves tea regardless. She was also taught what was proper of a female in her position like cooking and proper manners. She was taught not to speak out of her turn but she doesn’t necessarily follow this while she is in Hogwarts. Being a Pureblood she was lucky enough to dodge a bullet of being placed into an arranged marriage as both her parents preferred not placing their eldest daughter or any of their children through it. They didn’t like it and they certainly didn’t want her to be tortured through it as well. Although she was told she was not permitted to fall in love with someone who was not a pureblood. She finds this thought rather ridiculous but has never voiced her opinion of this to her parents though. Hogwarts is only where her reckless and feisty personality comes out because it is the only place she finds is safe to be herself. She would probably reveal this fact back at home more if she wasn’t afraid of the consequences. She had never been in trouble as a child and she was told that back talk was not proper for a young lady but she was always a slight bit afraid of her father but even more so of her mother. Ellie learned of apparition and passed the test to allow her to use it. She is a hard studier after all and has taken a fine liking to defense against the dark arts as well as dueling.
