His particular family built a dynasty upon a very lucrative broom-making business that spanned centuries. The creation of the racing broom in the early 1900s, and their rapid adoption of the new trend allowed them to build an empire that rivaled that of the Nimbus Racing Broom Company in innovation, power, and profit. His grandparents were forced to England during the second Muggle World War, as their land was located close to the Western Front while many of his relatives were far removed from the fighting, and to this day still reside in Germany. Despite being displaced from their homeland and into unfamiliar territory, they quickly found residence in a wizarding community, using their connections to quickly locate a very nice place of residence. [/style]Charles was born on March 12th, and is the eldest of child, having a younger brother and sister. As the eldest child, his parents wanted to raise him to be a veritable Renaissance man, well-versed in both the magic and Muggle world. They felt that a strong, broad knowledge would better prepare him for his studies at Hogwarts and that he would be in a position where he could choose the career he wanted if he did not wish to continue in the family business of making racing brooms, a career they were preparing his younger brother for. Despite being part of a pure-blood family, his time spent with Muggles with his father led him to see no difference with Muggle-borns and half-bloods from pure bloods. It was this cosmopolitan upbringing that enabled Charles to enter Hogwarts with an open mind. His father, who had taken over the family business from his grandfather, created the revolutionary Gelgoog, which competed with the Nimbus 2000 and 2001 and found use in many Quidditch teams until the Firebolt was introduced, during which the Gerbera Tetra was released to compete with. During the summer months, Charles assisted his father greatly in developing the prototype of an upcoming racing broom, the Sinanju. When put into production, it will be known as the fastest and most agile broom on the market. While he has yet to bring out its full potential, he is more than capable of pulling off maneuvers that appear to break the boundaries of what a broom can do. His family’s illustrious history in the broom business has given him a great interest in Quidditch, and is said to be a natural at playing the sport. His ability to quickly process information in a given situation and react accordingly, his ability to remain calm under fire, natural talent for the sport, and ties to his family’s company have all caught the eye of many Quidditch teams. His skills, along with his ambidexterity also make him a potent duelist. The bulk of his years before attending Hogwarts were spent on private schooling and Muggle sports. Two of his favorites that he continues to practice to this day, recreationally and typically for fitness purposes, are Jujitsu and Muay Thai. The combination of these two makes him a formidable physical fighter as far as magic folk are concerned. Since his induction into Hogwarts, he has had less time to practice them despite his efforts to make time for practice. As far as academics goes, Charles is incredibly lazy, and tends to put assignments off until the last minute while he pursues activities he enjoys. Despite the laziness in academics, he is surprisingly diligent when it comes to his friends or his work with brooms. He is incredibly loyal to his friends, and is dependable. Although his hedonistic behavior says otherwise he manages to achieve decent grades, and when motivated, can actually spend hours studying. Charles wishes to spend a few years as an Auror before settling down and taking over his father’s broom-making empire. Charles has learned to apparate and is an Occlumens. His father, being the shrewd and ambitious business man he is, wanted his son to follow in his footsteps. To that end, he felt that he needed a real advantage over the other students, and began to teach him Occlumency when he started going to Hogwarts. That and Occlumency is very handy in protecting corporate secrets. As with the rest of his family, Charles is fluent in German. His favorite color by far is red. While his father tends to the family business, his mother runs a falconry in the wizarding community in which they live. They have nearly every single type of bird-of-prey in the roosts, ranging from owls to eagles and falcons and even magical creatures like griffins. The scar on his forehead is the result of a Quidditch accident three years ago, when he avoided getting smashed by a Bludger, by mere millimeters to the point where it had literally slid across his back, only to end up crashing into the opposing team's Keeper. Although he is normally chill towards most things, one of the things that will annoy or even anger him is blood discrimination. He sees no reason for prejudice as he finds that there are no discernible differences between Muggleborns, half-bloods, and purebloods, albeit he tends to poke fun at pureblood families that have been known to inbreed. He has an odd ability to make a really silly face that causes his friends…and sometimes even strangers for that matter to burst out into laughter and lighten their mood even if they are annoyed or angry with him, perfect for diffusing tense situations.
