Kat is not really a bad person in general, she just knows what she wants and goes after it. this makes her blind to the thoughts and feelings of others and thus she may come off as unfeeling / uncaring.
she is drawn to things that aren't normal. as a child, she played with dolls and toys that were more dark than the toys other children played with. even now, she still sleeps with a large black rabbit with a top hat and string crisscrossing to make its eyes. her own design of course.
while Kat doesn't particularly care about bloodlines, her family does. one of her uncles chose to marry a muggle born witch and has since been snubbed by the rest of the family. Kat actually prefers the muggle born aunt over any of her pureblood aunts.
