Li-Fen Family

A pureblood family dating back all the way to Ancient China in the Shang Dynasty, it is considered to be one of the oldest of Purebloods around. This family is renowned throughout the wizard world for their mixture of physically fighting and combining magic with it. They are also rather notorious for their unstable mentality and brutal way of handling enemies. Most other Wizard family's do not want to come in contact with those named Li-Fen and for the most part, that is perfectly fine with them as they see themselves superior to others, even other purebloods as it was already. There are three classifications inside of the family; Heirs, Warriors, and Medical.

Heirs

“You dare talk to me as such? Lowbloods...should act like one. Now, on your knees!”

The heirs are apart of the main branch that still remains in China. The Heirs are considered the 'gifted', the chosen ones of the gods, as such they are treated as such. They often refer to themselves as 'Emperor' or 'Empress' depending on the gender, out of all of the Li-Fen family, they are the most arrogant. Like most, they are trained in multiple areas of combat and magic, though not as severe as the Warriors, they know how to fight, but magic is more of their domain, they plan things out, strategies, calculations, efficiency, they are the leaders, the ones to take control of a situation despite their arrogance. The members of the heirs have tattoo's in white or gold.

Warriors

“How well can you use a spell with your arm gone?”

The warriors of the family branch off into others, they are not strictly apart of the main branch but apart of multiple branches. As their name suggests, they are warriors, trained from birth to be an efficient killing machine. Most of the methods are very unorthodox and out of all the classifications, warriors have the highest death infancy rate, as they are only interested in strong youths, if they die young, then they were not strong enough and another shall take its place. Training is downright brutal, their is no holding back and pain is welcomed as they want to respond even as their body is screaming in pain begging to stop. To warriors they cannot afford to be ordinary, because they are nothing like that. The Warriors are the ones that most wizards know from their signature, which is snapping their opponents wand arm over their leg like a twig, efficiently leaving them defenceless, depending on the situation they have been known to slicing the entire arm off as well. Warrior tattoo's are either in black (for death) or red (for blood).

Medical

“You thought you could fight my Empress and live? You are a great fool, now come, the reaper waits for your soul.”

The medical side is not all that known to others mostly because they do not place themselves in employment as nurses. The Medical are very selective on who they will heal, and will usually, only treat those with 'Li-Fen' in there name. If it was to choose between an incredibly injured Pure-blood and a barely scratched Li-Fen, they will go with the latter unless order by an heir to treat the more badly injured, but that would be extremely unlikely. The Medical is usually a female dominant area, it has been before centuries but they have been mixing over the last centuries. Woman are becoming stronger to fit as warriors rather then medics but that is still rather rare. Medical tattoo's are colored in blue or green.

All the training for these three seem to have a common theme of being surrounded by death. Multiple heirs are usually produced at once, varying in ages, then once they are eight, they enter a more or less 'contest' to pick out the strongest that will be the 'True' Heir. The contest is more or less a slaughter fest from what they were taught. Again, Li-Fen's are only interested in power and strength, so the last one left alive is considered their 'Chosen one' for the generation.

Warriors are usually thrown into life-or-death situations as a way to 'learn' survival instincts. Training to them, is nothing gentle, it is brutal and unforgiving, adults show no mercy, show no signs of caring. They start killing at a very young age. Because of this scars are not uncommon, as they are gained in rather unpleasant or gruelling ways that usually has warriors suppress the very tales on how they got them.

Medical always use dying/injured patients as their training, learning first hand, and if they die, it was because of a mistake they did. They literally are playing with someone's life when they are nursing someone to health, they learn the hard way what you should to, and what you shouldn't. They usually learn the medical arts by hand before learning magic. One cannot learn to heal properly if they do not know the placement of organs, the thickness of flesh and texture of tendons.

As a result death is not treated as a big deal to them and as a result, hardly bat an eyelash if it happens in front of them.

Out of the three only Warriors and Heirs learn Unforgivables once they reach the age of twelve.

Branches

There arm multiple branches that extend out from the Main branch in China. The main branch is usually called 'Yellow dragon', extending up away from that, is the northern region, its called the 'Blue Dragon', Southern is referred as 'Red Phoenix' the east is the 'Black Tortoise' and the west is the White Tiger. These are based off the Chinese directions and Constellations. All children born from the Branches are brought to the 'Yellow Dragon' to begin their training, and when they are older, they are assigned to a branch that they feel will help the child learn more from, its rather uncommon for a child to go to the same branch as its parents and incredibly rare to be chosen to stay in the Main branch but also an immense honor. All Li-Fen from the branches are exactly that, purely Li-Fen members.

Blue Dragon, and Red Phoenix are more medical based, while Black Tortoise and White Tiger are more Warrior based.

Behavior

Li-Fen as stated before, are arrogant, they see themselves above others, even other purebloods, referring to them as 'Lowbloods'. They have little respect for others. Since they were young they were brainwashed into believing that they were superior and the only one that can touch Li-Fen, was another Li-Fen, so in all honesty, incest was greatly encouraged, still is, especially amongst the females of the family. Males seeking out other pureblooded females is fine, as they would be under their family name, females seeking outside males however is frowned upon, usually resulting in death if a child is born from the union.

The family is rather indifferent about same sex relationships as nothing can be made from the union. But their is a pesky problem that the elders seem to try and constantly get rid of. When a Li-Fen falls in love, they belong to the one they love, body, mind and soul, placing that loved one above the Emperor/Empress, that is usually not acceptable, as the Emperor/Empress is above all others, and so will usually kill them in response, seeing it as an insult. Usually the Empress/Emperor has a harem set aside for them that they personally picked, more often then not, Warriors as they are strong, it is usually considered to be a great honor if they are chosen.

Narcotics are also frowned upon as they slow one's reaction time and makes them laid back and...approachable to others, to them, this is sullying the Li-Fen's name, as they have gained that terror through their name throughout generations and want it to remain as such. The Empress/Emperor usually sends a letter to them requesting that they return to China for some 'rehabilitation' which is code for 'torture' and most are lucky to live after the chosen one tortures them for days on end before they are satisfied with their pain, refusing this order from the Empress/Emperor is punishable by death.

The Empress/Emperor is treated with much respect and loyalty and they hold themselves in a confident self assured manner easily saying orders what what displeases them. They treat both the Warrior and Medic with equal brands of affection in their own twisted way. If they are interested in someone enough to be apart of their harem they usually start showing extra affections like brushing their hands over their hand, an intimate gesture to them, and kissing them point blank on the mouth.

Warriors are much like Soldiers in the army, they are emotionless and listen to orders to the 'T'. Like the Heirs, they see themselves above others often looking down on them and act on impulses, they're also blunt as hell, but if a fight breaks out, they are among the first to react, their instincts are to protect the Heirs, do not confuse this with saving others, they are only looking out for family.

Medic's are rather a sadistic bunch, filled with sarcasm, towards others anyway to other Li-Fen, they are sweet and kind often dotting, but not overdoing it. They know that they are the Medic's and that is their speciality, they are keeping this precious family alive, most of them are genius' in Potions and Herbology along with the Human body. While Warriors know how to break the body in most gruesome ways possible, Medic's know how to heal it till they are better then before.

Hierarchary

The hierarchy of this family is easy to remember. At the top is the Empress/Emperor the 'chosen' Heir. Underneath them, are the Elder's, a counsel made up of over fifty members all from previous generations, they are like the advisor's to the Empress/Emperor and can over rule an order if they feel like it doesn't benefit the family (But they hardly ever do), they are also the trainers for the infants that come to them when they are born and teachers for the ones that survive. The oldest one called the 'Grand Elder' only takes on the Heir children as they themselves are an Heir and its their job to find the 'Chosen' once the current Empress/Emperor has died.

Underneath them is the Heirs, beneath the Heirs are the Warriors and Medicals. Even though Medic and Warrior are at the bottom on this pyramid, they do not care, this system has been in place before they were even born and has not wavered over the years, as it were, the ones above them, needed them the most.

Warriors and Medical have their own subclass as it were. For warriors it is;

Golden Dragon Warrior
Dragon Warrior
Tiger Warrior
Phoenix Warrior
Tortoise Warrior

Golden Dragon is the highest one a Warrior can achieve, it is a show that your skill is so great and you loyalty to immense that you will be guarding the Empress/Emperor themself, while Tortoise is for those that are just beginning their training. Medical is rather similiar:

Again Golden Dragon Claw being the highest that a Medic can achieve and is serving as the Empress/Emperor's personal doctor. Not many reach that level, but when they do, they are unrivalled in the field of healing.

Family Tree

To put it bluntly this family is so goddamn old and large that I don't have the patience to right out the whole freaking thing, but I will but the ones that I feel are important.

Yu Li-Fen- One of the founding member's of the Li-Fen family, he was the first Heir.

Gao Li-Fen- Another of the founding member's of the Li-Fen Family, he was the First Warrior.

Mao Li-Fen- Last of the founding member of the Li-Fen Family, she was the first Medical.

Lei Li-Fen- First leader of the Blue Dragon, concurred enemy castle and used it as a base, eventually became a home.

Huang Li-Fen- First leader of Red Phoniex, invaded and captured enemy strong point, tortured numerous of people until rival family had surrendered.

Xuan Li-Fin- First leader of the Black Tortoise, shipped across the ocean claiming a castle in Japan before moving onto America. Made a small colony on there.

Jian Li-Fen- First leader of the White Tiger, slaughtered a rather large pureblood family before claiming all they owned for the Li-Fen family.

Mei Li-Fen- First Empress of the Li-Fen family, renowned for her cruelty and torturing of half-bloods and half-breeds.

Ming Li-Fen- One of the most well renown female warrior, grew up in Japan, slaying giants and other creatures before eventually leading armies, was one of the first to become a Golden Dragon Warrior.

Zhi Li-Fen- Known as the 'Blood Emperor' he had the Li-Fen enter multiple battle with other Pureblood familes, taking the head of each family and hanging them upside down before slitting their throats over a bathtub, would then bath in it and even eat the hearts afterwords.
